The Mason Valley Beekeepers were created in 2009.  Members are not only from Mason Valley but also from other northern Nevada communities including Smith Valley, Silver Springs, Silver City, Gardnerville/Minden, and Fallon.  Members meet once a month from March through October.  Their meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Lyon County Library, Yerington, Nevada.  The members are mostly hobby and sideliner beekeepers.    The club welcomes new beekeepers and have a mentoring program for new beekeepers.

This is the fourth year the Mason Valley Beekeepers have put on the Beekeepers' Conference.  They are enthusiastic about welcoming new people and new beekeepers to the Conference.

Mason Valley Beekeepers manage bee colonies not only for honey production, but for the benefits it provides their homes and their communities.   Mason Valley Beekeepers desire to enhance northern Nevada’s reputation as a ‘Bee-Friendly’ area which encourages the apiculture industry and advocates for increasing numbers of bee colonies in the area not only for economic reasons  but for the betterment to our communities
