Why keep bees?

Honeybees are one of Elohim's amazing creatures! The keeping and studying of honeybees is very addictive so be careful! Honeybees are important pollinators of many flowering plants. If you would like to help your garden and neighborhood consider keeping a couple of colonies. As honeybees gather pollen and nectar they pollinate nearby crops, fields and gardens. An established honeybee colony can produce excess honey, sometimes 30-50lbs or more!

Add beauty and function to your garden

A beehive enhances your garden and landscapeWhen to Start?

Most everyone will tell you to start in the Spring and that is true. However the best time to start is now! Start reading, start preparing, get your supplies and plan together now. You will find that once spring is sprung you will have a hard time locating equipment and may miss out on acquiring a package of bees. The best time to work on your plan, acquire and assemble equipment is in the fall & winter. Once the bees start buzzing you may find that suppliers are back ordered, packaged bees are sold out and experienced beekeepers may be in the fields or their apiaries knee deep in work.
